Everything happens for a reason
Whoops! I haven’t blogged for over a week now so here’s what I’ve been up to and what I intend to get up to!…
Last weekend we had a visit from James, Anna and their beautiful little daughter Maya (who has the cutest voice you’ve ever heard). They came up to Karen’s by train for lunch so I prepared raw sandwiches and chocolate torte with ginger cream and strawberry sauce for dessert. It was great to meet them, having only communicated by email previously. Sounds like their retreats were fantastic in Ibiza last year, but not without the challenges the come from running something like that!
Pete and Luke came round after their trip to the zoo, just in time for Luke and Maya to get acquainted. Before they all left, Maya gave Luke a pressie and in return got a hug from him…so sweet!
Dinner Party News
Unfortunately we found out last week that we would not be able to use Vita Organic for further dinner parties, which at first seemed very disappointing. But true to form, everything happens for a reason, we (I say we, I mean Emma) have found an amazing alternative. It’s Westminster Kingsway College, and before you say, "a dinner party in a college?", it’s a hospitality college that can boast several different function rooms, a fully-fledged restaurant and past students such as Jamie Oliver and Gordon Ramsay! One of the function rooms holds up to 150 people so there’s plenty of room for expansion! :-) To top it all off there’s plenty of free parking in it’s central location. This really is such a great result for us. Ems and I are going to look at it on June 1st (Em’s Birthday) to decide which room we want, which will mean the dinner parties will continue from July. Dates and themes will be updated on The Fresh Network website.
I’m honored to have been asked to write an article for the next edition of Get Fresh! The latest edition was only mailed yesterday but the next one is hot on it’s heels, good job I’ve nearly finished my article then! I won’t tell you what I’m writing about but I can tell you that it’s on a summer theme and there’ll be some fantastic recipes!
Were you on the Paul Nison Teleclass this week? Wow! I really enjoyed listen to Paul talk. The guy has done so much research that is backed up by sound scientific research. It’s really refreshing to hear something other than opinions based on one person’s personal experience. If the raw food movement is to progress from where we are now, there needs to be more emphasis on information that has credible proof. One of the things I thought was fantastic was his advice to get a blood test to find out if, and where you are deficient and work from there. I have thought about this before but have never managed to find anywhere to get a blood test that would tell me what I needed to know. Paul advised getting a doctor to do the blood test and then send the results to Brian’s guys at Hippocrates or to Gabriel Cousens at The Tree of Life. Apparently it’s not the blood test that’s the problem, it’s interpreting the results that needs to be done correctly. The teleclass will be available to buy as a download shortly
Chad Sarno Trainings and The Food of Life Festival
So that’s some of what I’ve been up to, what’s coming up in the next few weeks?

Well, Sunday June 4th is The Food of Life Festival in Brighton. This is going to be a great day and a chance to meet people I’ve only read about, emailed, or talked to on the phone.
There’ll be 9 presentations going on throughout the day and plenty of other stuff too including…
Delicious food, high vibe juice and smoothie bar, kids raw candy store, puppet show, clowns,
Healing Haven from Active Lightworks, raw deli delights,
superfoods, wild foods, yoga….and more!
The price? Just £2!!! Can you believe that? What other reason do you need to have a day in Brighton? Just turn up on the day and pay!
Visit the website for more info, see you there!

As if that wasn’t enough, I’ll be back down in good ‘ole Sussex the very next weekend for Chad Sarno’s level 1 Chef’s trainings. Can you imagine how excited I am about that? I’ll be lodging with my old housemates for a weekend and immersing myself in some of the the finest raw culinary arts training in the world. This isn’t just for chefs though, oh no, if you’d like to be able to prepare beautiful gourmet raw food for yourself and the ones you love then you need to be there. Again, you can visit the website or email Sue for more information and to book.
Don’t worry if you can’t make the weekend, Chad is also doing an evening class and meal on the Monday night too!
